  1. The other day I saved a humming bird from my cat's mouth. He sat in my hand for a few minutes breathing deeply. once he opened his eyes I tried to put him up high on an arbour post he gathered himself and flew away, much to my cat's disgust!

  2. You are the friend of hummingbirds for life Carole! Spirit birds. Which species was it that you saved from felis catus? Rufus, Black-chinned, Calliope or Ruby-throated?

  3. Well you are indeed fortunate to live in BC Carole which is the hummingbird capital of Canada! My two sisters live in BC and every time I go to visit - I am always amazed by the diversity and action at the feeders they have. Alas, here in Nova Scotia we are washed in salt, sugar poor apparently and have only the Ruby-throated Hummingbird! :)

  4. The Ruby-throated is a stunner too!
One day I hope to get to NS. My father's side of the family settled in New Brunswick and Newfoundland when they first sailed to Canada from England. There are relatives all over the place with the last name of Hodder.
