Interesting to see Buffalo Bill and his Indians in Winnipeg - he is buried quite close to where we live. I enjoyed the Beatles videos - they were the best! It's a little bittersweet though, remembering what happened to John and George. It's a little tough tonight (14th), as a newly retired elementary teacher thinking about what happened today in Connecticut.
Recent history has perhaps assigned Buffalo Bill an unfair measure of negative symbolism, given that his primary claim to fame was being a good shot profiteering killing buffalo. While he and others nearly drove them to extinction, Buffalo Bill was not a random killer of humans, nor was he a psychopath... The violence and carnage born in more recent decades, even in youth, incubated by an accepting society that actively markets violence and aggression has always been hard for me to accept. I remember that dark day in elementary school when our teacher told us that John F. Kennedy had been assassinated. The world was shocked, stopped, everybody went home to mourn his passing. I posted all of these pictures and music too, because I like you think they are all in someway strangely connected.
