Seen a Bat?

The public in Nova Scotia can report bat observations to help us understand where bats remain over the province's landscapes.  Please distribute this poster if you live in the province and check out the web site!  Thanks for your kind help.

  2. I saw one this past spring at our house in Clam Bay, NS but it appeared to be flying drunkenly, I wondered if it wasn't ill. I've also seen some near my workplace in Burnside BUT not nearly as many as previous years.

  4. My friend hung a bat box on Salt Spring Island, BC three years ago. During the summer of 2012, we counted 19 one night and thought that was a lot. Just 3 weeks ago, we stopped counting at 104 bats. It was getting too dark to see and the bugs were biting, but we could hear more bats in the bat box.

The person who made the bat box has made several more and gifted them to people on the island.

  5. It is so good to hear about bats still unaffected by WNS in BC! My hope is that you never will experience what we have undergone over the past 3 years in eastern Canada.
