  4. Waxwings are probably my favorite birds. Their plumage is so sleek, their colouring so subtle, but it is their exuberance as a group and swooping flight that gets me every time. One sunny spring day, as I parked my car on a quiet street, a massive flock descended to the ground all around me, drinking from the melted snow water lying on the street. I got out of my car and as I walked around it, the whole flock erupted into the air and my world became a rush of a thousand wings and water and sun and joyful chatter.I felt like I had been blessed by many angels.
